Ravens finish home slate with split against Cougars

The Anderson University softball team split a pair of non-conference games against St. Francis on Thursday night at Raven Park on Senior Night. The Ravens won the first game 8-6, but lost the finale 7-3.
In the first game, Erin Garrity led the Ravens with two hits and four RBI, including a triple. Chelsie Haines and Gretchen Louzon each had two hits and an RBI, including a double, and lone senior Kelly Thompson added two hits, including a double.
Jessica Alsman earned the victory on the mound, tossing a one-hitter. She had a no-hitter through 4.1 and finished with a walk and four strikeouts.
In the second game, Garrity and Thompson had two hits apiece and Haines added an RBI double. Thompson took the loss on the mound, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out three and walking three.
AU (16-20, 9-5 HCAC) travels to Bluffton on Saturday for the regular season finale at 1 p.m. The Ravens will qualify for the four-team post-season HCAC tournament with a sweep against the Beavers.
