Ravens finish spring trip with doubleheader split

Thompson_web.jpgThe Anderson University softball team defeated Franklin & Marshall 9-5, but lost to William Paterson 4-0 in the final two games on Saturday at the Fortune Road Complex in Kissimmee, Fla.

In the first game, Julia Siefring led the Raven offense with two hits, two runs and two RBI, including a double.

Kahley Barkes and Gretchen Louzon each had two hits and Barkes added two runs and a stolen base. Kelly Thompson had a double and three RBI and Kate Richards added a double.

Jessica Alsman earned the victory on the mound, allowing seven hits and four earned runs while striking out four and walking one.

In the second game, Barkes led the offense with three hits and Chelsie Haines added two hits as the Ravens out-hit the Pioneers 9-7 in the game.

Thompson took the loss on the mound, allowing seven hits and two earned runs while striking out four and walking two.

AU (4-8) hosts Franklin on Tuesday in the HCAC opener at 3:30 p.m.
