Ravens split softball doubleheader with Pioneers

The Anderson University softball team split a pair of Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference games to Transylvania University on Monday at Raven Field, losing the first game 4-1, but winning the second 9-6.
In the first game, Gretchen Louzon led the Ravens with a pair of hits and Jessica Alsman added a hit and the lone RBI.
Kelly Thompson took the loss on the mound, allowing eight hits and one earned run while walking one and striking out three.
In the second game, Erin Garrity and Kelly Shuck each had two hits and an RBI. Louzon had two more hits and two runs and Chelsie Haines had a hit and two RBI.
Alsman earned her third victory of the season on the mound, allowing eight hits and two earned runs while walking four and striking out four.
AU (13-19, 7-5 HCAC) travels to Manchester on Tuesday for their fourth HCAC doubleheader in four days at 3:30 p.m.
