Stott wins HCAC football award

November 11th, 2008

Anderson University’s Darryl Stott has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week in football.

The sophomore rushed the ball 33 times for 253 yards and five touchdowns - all career highs - in a 35-31 victory over Rose-Hulman last Saturday in Terre Haute.

Stott has 934 rushing yards on the season and leads the HCAC in rushing yards per game. He needs just 66 yards in the season finale to become the fourth back in school history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. The others are Thomas Lee, Larry Bryant and Denny Kimmel.

AU (5-4, 4-2 HCAC) finishes the regular season against Manchester on Saturday in the Bronze Ball Game. The contest will be carried live on the internet broadcast from Macholtz Stadium at 1:30 p.m.
