AU has 18 student athletes named Academic HCAC

athleticsEighteen Anderson University student athletes have been named to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference fall All-Academic team.

Rose-Hulman had the most honorees with 37, followed by Mt. St. Joseph (31), Franklin (20) and Anderson (18).

The volleyball team had five representatives on the squad, led by HCAC Defensive MVP Caitlin Morency. Other AU volleyball players were Jessica Berlin, Allee Donaghy, Tara Roberts and Elizabeth Turner.

The women’s tennis team and women’s soccer team each had three student athletes. Alex Hammel, Katy Porter and Jessie Rigby represented tennis while Carlie Clark, Katie Rocholl and Andrea Whitacre.

Other sports represented were women’s cross country (Ashley Casterline, Candace DeLong), football (Shane Peacock, Tyler Smith), men’s soccer (Stephen Harkleroad, Matt Robinson) and women’s golf (Hannah Wickard).

To qualify for Academic All-HCAC a student athlete must be of at least sophomore status and have a 3.5 grade point average.
