Anderson University’s School of Music, Theatre, and Dance welcomes The Icarus Ensemble, an Indianapolis-based group playing jazz, classical, pop and original compositions. The concert will be in the York Performance Hall on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Bengtson Concert Series.
Rimoun Abdalla, a current Master of Divinity student at the Anderson University School of Theology, has been named the 2013-14 Gustav Jeeninga Museum Fellow in Archaeology. Abdalla is the seventh university student to receive this Fellowship, which provides resources to help them study archaeology in the Mediterranean basin. Abdalla will be working at a dig site sponsored by Tel Aviv University in Azekah, Israel.

The first words from Tom Snyder on hearing the news Monday that Anderson University President James Edward plans to step down were, "Oh, goodness."
It was the unguarded reaction of a man who considers Edwards both a close personal friend and a mentor in higher education.
"That's a big sea change," said Snyder, an Anderson resident and president of Ivy Tech Community College. "My interest in higher education was developed by actually having a chance to watch what Jim did in this period of significant change of the school."
Dr. James L. Edwards, president of Anderson University, has announced his plans to conclude his presidency by the end of the 2014-15 academic year. His last year of service will mark 25 years of distinguished leadership as president of Anderson University. Currently, he is the longest serving president (in both public and private universities) in the State of Indiana.
The IMEA gives out multiple scholarships each year based on various requirements. AU music students are required to attend IMEA conferences and are very involved with the organization.
