The Anderson University men’s and women’s cross country teams had a scrimmage at Mounds State Park onTuesday.
Candace DeLong finished third to lead the AU women in a time of 19:21 on the 2.90 mile course.
Other AU finishers were Erica Moffitt (6th, 20:01), Ashley Bordner (8th, 20:35), Kristen Reiff (11th, 20:53), Casey Gillespie (12th, 20:54), Sydni Terrill (15th, 22:06), Courtney Clevenger (18th, 22:02), Kayla Miller (21st, 23:18) and Laura Sussman (24th, 25:31).
Kirk Saunders led the men with a second place finish in 15:34 against the Alumni team. Top 10 AU finishers were Jake Wyatt (15:43), Bill Dugman (15:48), Taylor Holmes (15:59), Ryan Daugherty (16:07, Emby Duncan (16:08), Matt Dougherty (16:13), Andrew Abbott (16:26) and Jeff Vibbert (16:47).
Other AU finishers were Eric Linn (13th), Matt St. Amour (15th) and Drew Beaty (17th).
“It was good to get out there and race,” said coach Scott Wilson. “I liked how we did given the circumstances. We should be an imporved team this fall. We are young so we need to learn some things, but there is good potential.”
