Anderson University sophomore Drew Lovern has been named to the 12-player Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Team for the 2012 season on Tuesday.

Juniors Brock Bell and Adam Millikan were named All-HCAC Honorable Mention and Lovern was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

AU finished the season 4-8 overall and 4-4 in the HCAC.

The Anderson University men’s tennis team lost to Rose-Hulman 5-0 in the first round of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Tournament at the Indy Racquet Club in Indianapolis on Saturday.

The No. 1 doubles team of Drew Lovern and Brock Bell lost in a tiebreaker 9-8 (9-7) and the No. 2 team of Federico Boscaini and Adam Millikan fell short by a count of 9-7.

AU finishes the season 4-7 overall and 4-4 in the HCAC.

Drew Lovern (No. 1 singles and doubles), Brock Bell (No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles) and Federico Boscaini (No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles) all won two matches for the Ravens.

Adam Millikan teamed up with Bosciani at No. 2 doubles and Ethan Hillman accounted for the other point with a victory at No. 6 singles.

AU (4-7, 4-4 HCAC) travels to Franklin on Saturday for the regular season finale at 11 a.m.

With the score tied at 4-4, Ethan Hillman (pictured left) won a three-set tiebreaker against Justin Walker at No. 6 singles by a score of 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4).

Brock Bell (No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles) and Adam Millikan (No. 4 singles and No. 2 doubles) each won two matches for the Ravens.

Other winners for AU were Drew Lovern (No. 1 doubles) and Federico Boscaini (No. 2 doubles).

Adam Millikan led the Ravens with a pair of victories in the match. Millikan won at No. 4 singles and teamed up with Federico Boscaini to win at No. 2 doubles.

Brock Bell accounted for the other victory at No. 2 singles in two games.

Drew Lovern, Brock Bell and Logan Hendrickson each won two matches for the Ravens.

Lovern won at No. 1 single and No. 1 doubles while Bell was victorious at No. 2 singles and with Lovern at No. 1 doubles. Hendrickson won at No. 6 singles and teamed up with Ethan Hillman at No. 3 doubles.

Adam Millikan won at No. 5 singles to account for the other AU point in the match.

AU (1-4, 1-2 HCAC) travels to Bluffton on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Drew Lovern won at No. 1 singles to account for the Ravens’ lone point in the match. He won over Ben Paras by scores of 6-1 and 6-0.

AU (0-4, 0-1 HCAC) travels to Hanover on Saturday at noon.
