The Anderson University women’s basketball team lost to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference leader Hanover College 86-67 on Wednesday night at O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.
Jenna Wittenberg led the Ravens with 21 points, six rebounds and two assists, hitting 6-of-7 field goals and 7-of-8 free throws.
Amy Wuestefeld had 12 points, nine rebounds, five assists, three steals and Nyomi Defiel was also in double figures with 10 points, seven rebounds and three steals off the bench.
Melissa Stachovic added nine points, five rebounds and Hannah Wickard chipped in with eight points.
AU shot 40 percent from the field, including 48 in the first half when it trailed 43-35. Hanover finished at 46 percent shooting, including 61 in the first half.
Both teams finished with 35 rebounds and 26 points in the paint with the Panthers having a slight edge on the offensive glass 12-11. Hanover had a 19-14 advantage in assists and also had the lead in turnovers (20-28), points off turnovers (26-15), second chance points (12-8) and steals (16-11).
AU (6-10, 3-6 HCAC) hosts Transylvania on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The Anderson University women’s basketball team lost to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Bluffton University 60-53 on Saturday at O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.
Amy Wuestefeld led the Ravens with 20 points, 11 rebounds and five assists, hitting 7-of-13 field goals and 4-of-6 free throws, incuding a pair of 3-pointers.
Hannah Wickard was also in double figures with 10 points and eight rebounds, making 5-of-9 shots. Melissa Stachovic added eight points, seven rebounds and Kate Barwick chipped in with six points and seven rebounds.
AU shot 41 percent from the field compared to 34 percent shooting for Bluffton. Both teams finished with 21 field goals and six 3-pointers, but the Beavers outscored the Ravens from the free throw line 12-5.
The Ravens had a 45-35 advantage on the boards, but the Beavers had the edge in offensive boards 13-11. Bluffton also had the lead in turnovers (9-22), points off turnovers (25-4) and steals (14-4) while AU had the advantage in points in the paint (20-18), second chance points (12-9) and blocks (4-1).
AU (6-9, 3-5 HCAC) hosts Hanover College on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

The Anderson University women’s basketball team defeated Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Rose-Hulman 51-49 in overtime on Wednesday night at Hulbert Arena in Terre Haute.
Amy Wuestefeld led the Ravens with 19 points and seven rebounds, hitting 8-of-16 field goals and 2-of-3 free throws, including a 3-pointer. The junior also hit the game-winning shot with just over 30 seconds left in overtime.
Hannah Wickard had 13 points, a game-high 14 rebounds and three blocked shots, making 6-of-11 field goals. Jenna Wittenberg added seven points, five rebounds, five assists and Melissa Stachovic chipped in with five points, three rebounds and three assists.
AU shot 36 percent from the field, including 43 in overtime, where they outscored Rose-Hulman 6-4. The Engineers finished at 33 percent shooting, but only 2-of-8 in the extra session.
The Ravens had a 45-33 advantage on the boards, including 15-8 on the offensive glass. Rose-Hulman had the edge in assists (12-9), turnovers (10-14), points off turnovers (13-5), blocks (5-3) and steals (11-4) while AU had the lead in points in the paint (20-10) and second chance points (14-7).
AU (6-8, 3-4 HCAC) hosts Bluffton on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The Anderson University women’s basketball team lost to undefeated Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Franklin College 66-40 on Saturday at the Spurlock Center in Franklin.
Jenna Wittenberg led the Ravens with 10 points, four rebounds and two assists, hitting 4-of-10 field goals, including a pair of 3-pointers.
Amy Wuestefeld had eight points, five rebounds, two assists and Melissa Stachovic added eight points and three rebounds off the bench.
Hannah Wickard added eight points, three rebounds and Kate Barwick chipped in with six points and three assists.
AU shot 33 percent from the field, including 23 in the first half when it trailed 32-14. Franklin finished at 44 percent shooting, including 50 in the second half.
The Grizzlies had a 41-31 advantage on the boards, including 15-9 on the offensive glass. The hosts also had the edge in points in the paint (24-14), assists (20-15), turnovers (10-19), points off turnovers (19-6), second chance points (11-2) and steals (12-3).
AU (5-8, 2-4 HCAC) travel to Rose-Hulman on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

The Anderson University women’s basketball team lost to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Manchester College 61-42 on Wednesday night at Stauffer-Wolfe Arena in North Manchester.
Hannah Wickard led the Ravens with 10 points, three rebounds and two assists, hitting 3-of-13 field goals and 4-of-6 free throws.
Kate Barwick had nine points, three rebounds and Melissa Stachovic added nine points and two steals. Jenna Wittenberg chipped in with seven points, five rebounds and Amy Wuestefeld four points, three assists and four steals.
AU shot 32 percent from the field, including 30 in the first half when it trailed 33-19. Manchester finished at 49 percent shooting, including 58 in the first half.
Manchester had a 42-22 advantage on the boards, including 16-8 on the offensive glass. The Spartans also had the edge in points in the paint (28-12), assists (17-10), points off turnovers (21-15) and second chance points (22-5).
AU had the lead in turnovers (18-20) and steals (11-6).
AU (5-7, 2-3 HCAC) travels to Franklin on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Anderson University’s Hannah Wickard has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.
The senior led the Ravens to a pair of wins in Arizona last week, scoring 28 points with five rebounds in a 68-39 win over Wisconsin-Waukesha and adding 24 points with 11 rebounds in a 67-57 win over Arizona Christian.
For the week, Wickard averaged 17.5 points and 7.3 rebounds, while shooting 47.3 percent from the field.
Anderson (5-6, 2-2 HCAC) will travel to Manchester on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

The Anderson University women’s basketball team defeated Arizona Christian 67-57 on Friday night in Paradise Valley, Ariz. The Ravens defeated Wisconsin-Waukesha 68-39 on Thursday night in Phoenix.
Against Arizona Christian, Hannah Wickard led the Ravens with 24 points and 11 rebounds, hitting 8-of-14 field goals and 8-of-10 free throws.
Amy Wuestefeld was also in double figures with 16 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and two steals, making 5-of-11 shots. Brittany Stafford added four points and 10 rebounds off the bench.
Kate Barwick and Emylee Smith chipped in with five points, three rebounds and three assists each and Jenna Wittenberg added six points and four assists.
AU shot 41 percent from the field, including 50 in the second half while Arizona was at 28 percent shooting, including 25 in the final 20 minutes.
The Ravens had a 36-24 advantage on the boards, including 18-13 on the offensive glass. AU also had the edge in assists (16-14) while Arizona had the lead in turnovers (19-26) and steals (9-7).
AU (5-6, 2-2 HCAC) travels to Manchester on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

The Anderson University women’s basketball team lost to non-conference Adrian College 50-44 in overtime on Wednesday night at O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.
Amy Wuestefeld led the Ravens with 18 points, nine rebounds and three steals, hitting 6-of-17 field goals and 4-of-5 free throws, including a pair of 3-pointers.
Hannah Wickard was also in double figures with 11 points, five rebounds and Emylee Smith added eight points and two steals. Kate Barwick chipped in with nine rebounds.
Adrian shot 35 percent from the field, including 2-of-4 in overtime while AU was at 26 percent shooting, including 0-of-4 in the extra session. The Ravens made 14-of-21 free throws while the Bulldogs were just 10-of-26 from the charity stripe.
Adrian won the battle of the boards 45-42, including 16-15 on the offensive glass. The Bulldogs also had the edge in points in the paint (18-10), turnovers (21-22) and steals (9-8), but the Ravens had the lead in points off turnovers (15-14).
AU (3-6) travels to Phoenix, Ariz., to play Wisconsin-Waukesha (Dec. 29) and Arizona Christian (Dec. 30) over Christmas break.

Amy Wuestefeld led the Ravens with 13 points, eight rebounds and two assists, hitting 5-of-15 field goals and both her free throws.
Hannah Wickard had seven points, eight rebounds, two assists and Brittany Stafford added nine points, two assists and two steals off the bench.
Danielle Eng added six points and Jenna Wittenberg and Kate Barwick chipped in with five points each.
AU shot 42 percent from the field, including 46 in the first half when it led 27-26. Defiance finished at 50 percent shooting, including 60 in the second half.
The Yellow Jackets had a 30-27 advantage on the boards and also had the edge in points in the paint (24-18), turnovers (20-21), points off turnovers (21-18) and steals (11-8).
AU (3-5, 2-2 HCAC) hosts Adrian on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

AU shot 40 percent from the field, including 50 in the first half when it led 30-22. Earlham finished at 37 percent shooting, including 45 in the second half when it outscored the hosts 31-18.
The Ravens had a 36-35 advantage on the boards and also had the lead in points in the paint (30-18), points off turnovers (21-18), second chance points (17-14), but the Quakers had the edge in assists (11-9) and turnovers (21-25).
