AU alumna pursuing dream as a behavioral clinician

Abby Kahl had a dream job in mind when she graduated from Anderson University. Today, she’s reaping the rewards of hard work and persistence. Kahl works as a behavioral clinician at the Suzanne Gresham Center in Muncie, Ind. In this position, she works with clients ranging from ages 2 to 16 who have behavioral disabilities. Kahl’s job requires extensive knowledge, and she says it’s her AU courses that prepared her.

Anderson University will be closed until Wed., Jan. 29, at 8 a.m.

Due to historically dangerous temperatures, the university will be closed beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 27 and will reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday, January 29. This means all classes on Tuesday and Tuesday evening will be cancelled..

The shuttle bus will continue to run at 30 minute intervals until 11:30 p.m. tonight and will resume at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow morning running until 11:30 p.m. tomorrow night. Shuttle service will continue if temperatures are below zero.

AU grad Smith wins award for work with Walmart

A 2009 Anderson University computer science graduate, Zach Smith, currently goes to work every day in Bentonville, Ark. Approximately 621 miles away from the AU campus, the knowledge and lessons Smith gained have traveled with him to the Walmart headquarters where he serves as a computer programmer. Recently, Smith won an award for his work on a mobile application that helps make car maintenance user friendly for Walmart’s customers.

Dr. James Lewis: MLK sought equal education for all

Anderson University works on dream project

Tyler Williamson dreamed of conducting research in gamma-ray observation. The VERITAS collaboration gave him an opportunity to do just that. VERITAS, the Very Energetic Radiation Telescope Array System, is a project located near Tucson, Ariz., that detects gamma-ray signatures in the atmosphere. Williamson, a junior majoring in physics and mathematics, was invited to work on VERITAS.

AU junior travels to theater festival

While most Anderson University students will be spending their winter break enjoying time off from hectic schedules, junior communication arts major Tyler Dague will be pursuing his passion for theater journalism. Recently, Dague was accepted to attend the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF). [Editor's note: Due to winter weather conditions, Dague was unable to make the trip to KCACTF.]
