AU alum and Hoosier recording artist Jon McLaughlin had an audience in more than 200 countries on Feb. 24 as he sang "So Close" during the Academy Awards ceremony. Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2007 were presented on Sunday, February 24, 2008, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center®, and were televised live by the ABC Television Network. The show was hosted by comedian Jon Stewart.
Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels responded to questions in a forum attended by 300 AU students and faculty in Reardon lobby today.

A planned upgrade to Fifth Street at Anderson University will have to wait another year because of unexpected delays.
The $2 million project, which will turn Fifth Street and a portion of College Avenue into a more pedestrian-friendly thoroughfare, should begin in May 2009 and be completed before students return for classes the following August, said Joe Royer, the university’s director of facilities and property management.

Anderson University will serve as a host site for College Goal Sunday, Sun., Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. in Reardon Auditorium. College Goal Sunday is a statewide charitable program that provides free information and assistance to Indiana families applying for college financial aid. College Goal Sunday will take place at 36 sites throughout the state of Indiana. FAFSA forms, required by educational institutions nationwide, must be received by the federal processor by March 10, 2008 for Indiana residents.
