The Social Work Program at Anderson University recently earned reaccreditation from the Council on Social Work Education, a standing it has enjoyed since 1979. The Council granted the program another eight years of accreditation, the maximum accreditation period.

Persons honored were Christine Densmore Young (Distinguished Alumni Award); Jon McLaughlin (Distinguished Young Alumni Award); Ray Freer (Distinguished Service Award); Ken and Grada Lockhart (John H. Kane Loyalty Award); Becky Archibald (Outstanding Music Award); and Jyllian Kumfer (Alumni Council Scholarship).
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is coming to Indiana to surprise one deserving family with a brand new custom-built home. Hallmark Homes, based in Anderson, Ind., will build the home and is coordinating partnership, donations and volunteers. The CEO of Hallmark Homes is Derek Wilder, a 1990 graduate of Anderson University. Wilder’s daughter, Kylene, is a sophomore at AU.
Anderson University’s School of Music has selected Becky Archibald to receive the 2009 Outstanding Music Alumni Award and will honor her during its Homecoming Concert, Friday, Oct. 9, 7:30 p.m., at Park Place Church of God in Anderson, Ind. Archibald graduated from AU with honors in 1983 with a B.A. in applied music and management.
A man whose legal experience ranges from enforcing the law as a state trooper to trying criminal suspects as a deputy prosecutor has been named Madison County Circuit Court judge.
Rudolph “Rudy” R. Pyle III, 39, was appointed Sunday by Gov. Mitch Daniels to fill the vacancy created last month by the resignation of Judge Fredrick R. Spencer. Pyle becomes Madison County’s first black judge.
