Haley McCracken looked at the seat she had been sitting in just one year before — before she graduated from Anderson University, before her mother passed away and before she even thought of going to Israel with the Jeeninga Fellowship of Archeology. A year ago she sat in the seat in front of her, listening to Shannon New-Spangler share about her experience in Israel. Little did McCracken know then about the trials and triumphs the year held for her. In one year she would be standing in front of Dr. David Niedert’s archeology class at sharing about her own experience in Israel.

The highest honor given annually to a business faculty member active in the Christian Business Faculty Association (CBFA) is the Richard C. Chewning Award. The 2009 award recipient of the Richard C. Chewning Award is Dr. Doyle Lucas, DBA Program director and professor of management at the Falls School of Business at Anderson University. This award, sponsored by the ServiceMaster Corporation was presented at the 2009 Annual Conference of the CBFA at John Brown University on October 15-17.

AU School of Music to honor Archibald with award

Anderson University’s School of Music has selected Becky Archibald to receive the 2009 Outstanding Music Alumni Award and will honor her during its Homecoming Concert, Friday, Oct. 9, 7:30 p.m., at Park Place Church of God in Anderson, Ind. Archibald graduated from AU with honors in 1983 with a B.A. in applied music and management.
