Anderson University and Warner Press have launched a new Web site, www.warnersallman.org, featuring the Warner Sallman Collection, a set of original artwork by Warner Sallman, who created some of the most widely recognized and cherished images of Christ produced in the 20th century.

In difficult economic times, a number of AU students are providing needed assistance and gaining valuable experience through summer internships. Through the INvision program, students are able to complete such internships which help them develop the necessary skills and professional relationships, giving them the edge in an increasingly competitive job market.
INvision AU partners with companies and organizations from government, health care, technology, social services, arts and culture, religious, service providing conglomerates, and other sectors in order to provide opportunities to AU students.

For most college students, April begins to bring an overwhelming flurry of stress, excitement and emotion as graduation day creeps forward without apology. It can be a time of self-centered thinking, agony and frustration as the realities of post-graduation life come to the surface. But for Anderson University’s Senior Art + Design students, April brings their focus to one another as they prepare to open their senior exhibition “Converge: It Totally Matters What It’s Next To.”
The senior art exhibition opening will be April 4 from 2-5 p.m. at 919 E 8th St., Anderson, Ind. This event is free and open to the general public.

Anderson University recently announced that Dr. Carl H. Caldwell, retiring Vice-President for Academic Affairs and Dean at Anderson University will address the graduating class of 2009 during commencement exercises, May 9. The 3 p.m. (E.D.T.) program will be conducted in the Ward Fieldhouse of the Kardatzke Wellness Center. Speaking during Anderson University’s baccalaureate service will be Rev. Dr. Kerry Robinson, senior pastor of East Side Church of God in Anderson, Ind., and member of the Anderson University Board of Trustees. Baccalaureate will take place earlier that day in Reardon Auditorium at 10 a.m. All events are free and open to the public.

Students in the 3-D design class recently put their conceptual studies into messy, real-life practice. Their goal? Construct a vessel that would safely transport a free-falling egg from over 30 feet to the bottom of the two-story stairwell in Decker Hall. The catch? The vessel was to be made entirely of paper without glue, staples, tape or fasteners of any kind.

Anderson University has received the designation “College of Distinction” in the newly-released 2008-2009 edition of Colleges of Distinction. Unlike traditional numeric-based college guidebooks, this book recognizes and appeals to students’ unique interests, realizing what may be “the best” college for one student, may be vastly different than the best for another.

Harvey Bayliss and Adam Menchinger, art students at Anderson University, will display their work at the senior art show, “Calliope,” in the Wilson Galleries on the AU campus. The show is open Nov. 22 - Dec. 19 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Bayliss and Menchinger will make senior presentations on Dec. 2 from 6-9 p.m. in Wilson Gallery.
“Calliope” is designed to provide a very festive yet intimate atmosphere where the viewer is encouraged to sit on Menchinger’s furniture, and have a close experience with Bayliss’ small works on paper.

A new sculpture created by Arlon Bayliss, professor of Art at Anderson University, and artist Mary Jo Kramb Bayliss will be permanently featured when the new Indianapolis International Airport opens on November 12, 2008. The collaborative creation, a glass wall entitled “Flightwave,” is located in the heart of the new airport on the east side of the Civic Plaza within the facility.
