AU golfers finish 4th at HCAC Championship

HCACgolfThe Anderson University women’s golf team finished in fourth place at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday and Sunday at Eagle Rock Golf Club in Defiance, Ohio.

Courtney Erickson led the Ravens with an 89-86 175 and was named All-Conference after finishing eighth individually.

Other AU finishers were Krista Zurcher (86-91 177), Lauren Flores (83-99 182) and Kelsie Wilkins (99-85 184).

Team scores – Franklin 676, Transylvania 700, Hanover 702, Anderson 718, Manchester 780, Defiance 783, Rose-Hulman 796, Mt. St. Joseph 817.

Ravens finish at Lady Grizzly women’s golf tourney

wgolfThe Anderson University women’s golf team finished third in the seven-team Lady Grizzly Tournament on Sunday in Franklin.

Krista Zurcher shot a 39-45 84 to lead the Ravens and was fourth individually.

Other AU finishers were Courtney Erickson (45-43 88), Lauren Flores (39-52 91), Kelsie Wilkins (53-51 104) and Chloe Radel (55-56 111).

Franklin won the event with a total of 332, followed by Hanover (352), Anderson (367), Manchester (395), Mt. St. Joseph (398), Rose-Hulman (418) and Spalding (438).

AU travels to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships next Saturday and Sunday in Kettering, Ohio at 9 a.m.

wgolfThe Anderson University women’s golf team finished fourth in the seven-team HCAC Invitational on Sunday in Defiance, Ohio.

Krista Zurcher shot a 46-46 92 to lead the Ravens and was 12th individually.

Other AU finishers were Courtney Erickson (46-48 94), Kelsie Wilkins (48-47 95), Lauren Flores (47-48 95) and Chloe Radel (51-65 116).

AU travels to the Franklin Invitational next Saturday at 11 a.m.

Team scores – Franklin 348, Transyvlania 357, Hanover 362, Anderson 376, Manchester 392, Mt. St. Joseph 406, Defiance 416.

Radel scores hole-in-one at Manchester golf tourney

Radel.ChloeThe Anderson University women’s golf team finished fourth in the 11-team Manchester Invitational on Saturday in North Manchester.

Chloe Radel had a hole-in-one on the seventh hole for the Ravens. The freshman used a 5-hybrid club on the 135-yard, Par-3 hole.

Courtney Erickson led the Ravens with a 44-40 84 and was fifth individually. Krista Zurcher also finished in the top 10, shooting a 44-45 89.

Other AU finishers were Lauren Flores (47-43 90), Kelsie Wilkins (46-53 99) and Radel (50-53 103).

AU travels to the Defiance College Invitational next Sunday at 10 a.m.

wgolfThe Anderson University women’s golf team finished in fifth place in the two-day of the Hanover Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at Shadowood Golf Course.

Courtney Erickson shot a 84-82 166 to lead the Ravens and finished in sixth place individually.

Other AU finishers were Krista Zurcher (87-85 172), Lauren Flores (89-85 174), Kelsie Wilkins (100-91 191) and Chloe Radel (111-103 214).

AU travels to the Manchester Invitational on Saturday at 9 a.m.

Team scores – Hanover 650, Indiana Tech 655, Marian 668, Transylvania 671, Anderson 703, Rose-Hulman 727, Mt. St. Joseph 741, Spalding 836.

Women’s golf in 2nd place at AU Invitational

Zurcher_webThe Anderson University women’s golf team finished second in the two-day AU Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at Killbuck Golf Course.

Krista Zurcher shot a two-day total of 81-84 165 to lead the Ravens and was fifth individually behind four Hanover players.

Other AU finishers were Lauren Flores (84-87 171), Kelsie Wilkins (86-94 180), Courtney Erickson (88-84 172) and Bailey Hunt (96-100 196).

AU grad and coach succeeds through challenges

Anderson University alumnus Tyler Daniels BA ‘09 was told at an early age that walking would not be part of his future. At birth, Daniels was diagnosed with spina bifida, a congenital defect in which the spinal cord branches out from the spinal column. Spina bifida usually results in neurological impairment, but Daniels had a higher power on his side.
