Women end soccer season with loss at Bluffton

kegerris_webThe Anderson University women’s soccer team lost to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Bluffton University 1-0 on Saturday in the season finale in Bluffton, Ohio.

The Beavers outshot the Ravens 13-9 in the game, but the visitors had a 5-4 edge in corner kicks. Heidi Lanzer had six saves in goal for AU.

Sarah Guffy led the Ravens with three shots and Carlie Clark added two in her final game.

AU finishes the season 2-14-2 overall and 1-6-1 in the HCAC.

Women’s soccer gets even with St. Mary’s of the Woods

wsoccer4The Anderson University women’s soccer team defeated St. Mary’s of the Woods College 5-1 on Wednesday in TerreĀ  Haute.

The Pomoroys had defeated the Ravens earlier in the season at AU.

Four different Ravens scored in the game with Kelsey Kegerris and Kat Mena each recording a goal and an assist.

Autumn Tolliver and Carlie Clark scored the other two AU goals with Sarah Guffy getting two assists. Abbey Witt and Kara Nussbaum each had an assist.

AU outshot St. Mary’s 26-10 in the game and also had an 8-1 edge in corner kicks. Heidi Lanzer earned the victory in goal with three saves.

Guffy led the visitors with six shots and Clark added four shots. Witt, Kegerris and Mena each chipped in with three shots apiece.

AU (2-14-2, 1-5-1 HCAC) travels to Bluffton on Saturday for the season finale at noon.

MSJ beats AU women’s soccer team

wsoccer3The Anderson University women’s soccer team lost to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Mt. St. Joseph 4-0 on Saturday at Schuyler Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Heidi Lanzer had eight saves for the Ravens and Maddie Follis, Abbey Witt and Sarah Guffy each had a shot.

AU (1-14-2, 1-5-1 HCAC) travels to St. Mary’s of the Woods on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Chicago shuts out women’s soccer team

wsoccer2The Anderson University women’s soccer team lost to No. 15 Chicago University 7-0 on Wednesday night in Chicago, Ill.

Sarah Guffy led the Ravens with two shots and Katie Rocholl and Carlie Clark each had a shot. Heidi Lanzer had eight saves in goal for the visitors.

AU (1-13-2, 1-4-1 HCAC) travels to Mt. St. Joseph on Saturday at noon.

Ravens, Jackets settle for scoreless tie in women’s soccer

newcomb_webThe Anderson University women’s soccer team competed with Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Defiance College for 110 minutes before settling for a 0-0 tie on Saturday at the AU Soccer Field on Senior Day.

The Ravens outshot the Yellow Jackets 19-18 in the game with the visitors holding an 8-4 edge in corner kicks. Heidi Lanzer had seven saves in goal for the Ravens.

Abbey Witt led the Ravens with five shots and lone senior Carlie Clark had four shots in her final home game. Sarah Guffy had three shots and Katie Rocholl and Kelcey Kegerris added two shots each.

AU (1-13-2, 1-4-1 HCAC) travels to Chicago on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

AU women’s rally falls short against Rose-Hulman

clark_webThe Anderson University women’s soccer team lost to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Rose-Hulman 3-2 on Wednesday at Macholtz Stadium.

The Ravens fell behind 3-0 at the half, but scored a pair of second-half goals to lose by a single one.

Autumn Tolliver scored the first Raven goal in the 58th minute and Kat Mena netted the second point in the 80th minute with an assist from Abbey Witt.

Rose-Hulman outshot AU 12-7 in the game and had an 11-1 edge in corner kicks. Heidi Lanzer had four saves in goal for the Ravens. Sarah Guffy led AU with three shots and Witt added two shots.

AU (1-12-1, 1-4 HCAC) hosts Defiance on Saturday. The game will be carried live on the internet broadcast at 1 p.m.

Women’s soccer team falls to Transylvania

Katie Rocholl led the Ravens with two shots and Sarah Guffy, Shelby Newcomb and Autumn Tolliver added one shot each. Heidi Lanzer had 14 saves in goal for AU.

AU (1-11-1, 1-3 HCAC) hosts Rose-Hulman on Wednesday. The game will be carried live on the internet broadcast at 2 p.m.

Hanover shuts out AU women’s soccer team in road match

wsoccerThe Anderson University women’s soccer team lost to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Hanover College 4-0 on Saturday in Hanover.

The Panthers outshot the Ravens 29-5 in the game and also had a 5-0 edge in corner kicks. Heidi Lanzer had eight saves for the Ravens and Sarah Guffy led the visitors with two shots.

AU (1-9-1, 1-1 HCAC) travels to Manchester on Wednesday at 2 pm.

Raven women win HCAC opener vs. Franklin

guffy_web1The Anderson University women’s soccer team opened the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule with a 1-0 victory over Franklin College on Wednesday at the AU Soccer Field.

Sarah Guffy scored the lone goal in the game in the 23rd minute with an assist from Kelsey Kegerris. Heidi Lanzer had four saves in goal for the Ravens.

AU outshot Franklin 20-8 in the game, but the Grizzlies had a 3-2 edge in corner kicks. Guffy led the Ravens with six shots and Abbey Witt had four shots.

AU (1-8-1, 1-0 HCAC) travels to Hanover on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Pomoroys score final two to beat AU women

davis_webThe Anderson University women’s soccer team lost to St. Mary’s of the Woods 3-1 on Tuesday at the AU Soccer Field.

Autumn Tolliver scored the Ravens’ goal in the 56th minute to tie the game at 1-1, with Kelsey Kegerris getting the assist. However, the Pomoroys scored twice in the final five minutes to get the victory.

St. Mary’s outshot AU 16-10 in the game, but the Ravens had a 2-0 edge in corner kicks. Heidi Lanzer had seven saves in goal.

Tollier led the Ravens with three shots and Kegerris and Katie Rocholl each had two shots.

AU (0-8-1) hosts Franklin in the HCAC opener next Wednesday. The game will be carried live on the internet broadcast at 4 p.m.
