Anderson University has named Marcie Taylor as the new athletic director. Taylor replaces Michael Zapolski, who has served as athletic director since 2003. Taylor has worked as associate athletic director of Anderson University since 2005.
“Marcie Taylor brings devotion to athletes, coaches and programs, and to the wider mission of Anderson University,” said Dr. James L. Edwards, president of Anderson University. “Over these years as a teacher and coach, she has equipped herself to take on this assignment and to move our intercollegiate athletic programs to greater successes. We are delighted to have her leadership in this major institutional role.”

The Anderson University women’s tennis team finished in fourth place at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Friday and Saturday at the West Indy Raquet Club in Indianapolis.

The Anderson University women’s tennis team defeated St. Francis 7-2 on Wednesday at the AU Tennis Courts.
Rachel Makin (No. 1), Katelyn Boes (No. 2) and Mandy Hackney (No. 3) each won in singles as well as doubles. The other singles winner was Katie Porter at No. 5.
Makin teamed up with Becky Curtis in No. 1 doubles; Hackney won at No. 2 doubles with Jessie Rigby and Boes was victorious at No. 3 with Emily Thompson.
AU (2-3) hosts Marian on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
