July 21st, 2008

Anderson University’s Sean Hudson and Gwen Kemple have been named as two of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Men’s and Women’s 2008 Division III Indoor and Outdoor Scholar Athletes of the Year, respectively.

The USTFCCCA honors Division III individuals for their academic and athletic achievements during the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met the NCAA Division III Indoor or Outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their respective event.

In addition to Hudson and Kemple, the AU women’s track and field team was recognized as a 2008 USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field team for the 2008 season.

The selection of the All-Academic Indoor and Outdoor Scholar Teams of the Year award is based on a combination of academic and athletic achievements. To be nominated, the team must carry a minimum 3.000 cumulative grade-point average.
