<p>Brett Sears continues to lead the Ravens, scoring third in the weight throw with a toss of 14.56 meters and shot put with a throw of 11.09 meters. Emily Williams placed second in the shot put with a throw of 11.28 meters. Candace DeLong contributes a second place in the steeplechase with a time of 11:53.57.</p>
<p>Other top five finishers were Ashley Bordner in the mile (4<sup>th</sup> 5:39.42), 800 meter relay team (3<sup>rd</sup> 2:00.91) and mile relay team (4:36.44).</p>
<p>AU travels to the Mt. Union Indoor Invitational on Mar. 5 at 4 p.m.</p>

<p>Other top five finishers were Emily Williams in the weight throw (4<sup>th</sup> 12.40m) and the Sear800 meter relay team (5<sup>th</sup> 2.02.76).</p>

<p>Brett Sears led the Ravens, placing second in the shot put with a throw of 11.14 meters and fourth in the weight throw with a toss of 13.54 meters. Candace DeLong placed first in the 3,000 meters with a time of 11.17.56. Emily Williams took second place in shot put with a throw of 11.29 meters.</p>
<p>Other top five finishers were Ashley Bordner in the mile (3<sup>rd</sup> 5.43.67), Amanda Coty in the 55 meter hurdles (4<sup>th</sup> 10.45) and the 800 meter relay team (4<sup>th</sup> 1.56.92).</p>
<p>AU hosts The Hoosier-Buckeye Invitational on Saturday at 3 p.m.</p>

<p>Boyland also finished seventh in the weight throw (15.04).His distance in the shot put was a meet record as well.</p>
<p>Other AU men that participated were Leonard Wells in the shot put (3rd, 14.87) and weight throw (13th, 13.53), Caleb Collier in the shot put (8th, 12.93) and weight throw (17th, 12.21) and Adam Tindall in the shot put (12th, 11.73) and weight throw (19th, 9.76).</p>
<p>Brett Sears and Emily Williams each finished sixth in the weight throw (13.99) and shot put (10.55), respectively. Sears also finished ninth in the shot put (10.11) and Williams was 18th in the weight throw (10.74). Williams distance in the shot put was a personal best.</p>
<p>&#8220;Our throwers opened up the indoor season and they had a good meet,&#8221; said AU coach Scott Wilson. &#8220;It was a good to test ourselves in a competitive environment.&#8221;</p>
<p>Megan Prater also competed in the shot put (13th, 8.64) and weight throw (19th, 9.88).</p>
<p>AU runs again this Saturday at Indiana Wesleyan at noon.</p>

<p>The 2009 class includes Valerie (Bingham) Williams, Larry Hocker, Phil Kalbaugh, Kurt Moreillon and Dorcas Stegelmann.</p>
<p>Williams earned four letters in cross country and four in track while at AU and was a team captain in both sports. In cross country, she was named team MVP, All-Conference, NAIA All-American and was a two-time NCCAA All-American.</p>
<p>In track, she was team MVP, All-Conference and a four-time All-American in both indoor and outdoor. She was named the Outstanding Senior Female Athlete in 1991 and still holds the school record in the marathon.</p>
<p>Hocker earned four letters in track, two in wrestling and one in football, but it was on the mat that he earned his reputation and became just the third wrestler inducted into the AU Athletic Hall of Fame. He was also named the Oustanding Senior Male Athlete in 1966.</p>
<p>Hocker was All-Conference, Indiana Little State Champion, team captain and team MVP. During his senior year, he was undefeated and unscored on in dual meets, finishing with a 15-0 record at the 123-pound class. On the track, he was team captain and set the school record in the triple jump, long jump and 330 intermediate hurdles.</p>
<p>Kalbaugh earned four letters in football and was twice named All-Conference, All-District, All-American and team MVP in 1978-79. He was also named the NAIA District 21 Player of the Year in and America&#8217;s Outstanding Names and Faces in 1979.</p>
<p>He still holds the school record for tackles in a season (168) and solo tackles in a season (91) and ranks third on the career tackles list (303), fourth in solo tackles (151) and assist tackles (152), despite the fact defensive stats weren&#8217;t kept before 1978.</p>
<p>Moreillon earned four letters in basketball and was twice All-Conference, All-District, team captain and team MVP. He also played in the Indiana College All-Star game in 1979.</p>
<p>He led the Ravens in scoring for three straight years and is one of only eight athletes to score 600 points in a single season. He is third on the career scoring list (1,733), second in career field goals (766) and fifth in season field goals made (274) in 1978-79.</p>
<p>Stegelmann came to AU in the fall of 1956, an era before women&#8217;s sports were recognized by Title IX, the NCAA or NAIA. She received a just a certificate for her participation in athletes at AU. In addition to basketball, softball and tennis, she was also active in the band, piano and the Women&#8217;s Recreation Association.</p>

<p>Stichter won the shot put (38 1 1/2) while McCollum was victorious in the high jump (4-9 3/4) and Roth the triple jump (37-3 3/4).</p>
<p>&#8220;I was pleased overall by our performances,&#8221; said AU coach Scott Wilson. &#8220;We had many people hit personal bests and two seniors had standout performances. Michelle Roth broke our school record in the triple jump with a big jump of 37-4, which was a personal best for her by nearly two feet.  John Rigsby had a personal best in the pole vault with a jump of 14-feet.&#8221;</p>
<p>AU runs in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships next Friday and Saturday in Terre Haute.</p>
