Novak family provides major gift for York Performance Hall and Galleries

Anderson University recently announced the receipt of a major gift from the Novak family to name the Green Room in the York Performance Hall and Galleries project in memory of Zachary Novak BA ‘04. Zach died in a 2006 plane crash outside of Bloomington, Ind., along with fellow AU alum Garth Eppley BA ‘03

Anderson University launches STAR Trading Room

Anderson University and STAR Financial Bank recently launched a live financial stock trading room in the Falls School of Business. Construction of the new facility began in the summer of 2011 and is being funded by a significant financial commitment from STAR Financial Bank. The trading room will benefit all students with coursework in finance as well as upper-division finance students working with the university’s Raven Investment Fund, a student-managed portfolio of that has outperformed the market in return and risk.

AU campaign is a job well done

What began as a dream in 2006 is now a reality. Anderson University has raised $113 million in the largest fundraiser the school has attempted.

It was an October afternoon more than five years ago when AU President James Edwards said the university planned to raise $110 million. Before the announcement was even made, some big donors were already on board.

The public phase of the Dreams. Discovery. Direction. campaign for Anderson University was officially launched on Oct. 5, 2006, and is the university’s largest campaign to date.

Construction progressing on AU performance hall

Construction continues on Anderson University’s York Performance Hall and Galleries project. The building will adjoin the existing Krannert Fine Arts Building and will include classrooms, rehearsal rooms and a new performance venue, said Chris Williams, director of university communications.

Anderson University recently announced that the institution has passed the $105 million mark toward the $110 million goal of the Dreams. Discovery. Direction. campaign. Last May, AU passed the $100 million mark thanks to confirmation of a gift of a valuable wood art collection from Dr. James York and Dr. Elizabeth York. Total campaign commitments now stand at more than $105 million. The public phase of the Dreams. Discovery. Direction. campaign for Anderson University was officially launched on October 5, 2006, and is the university’s largest fundraising effort to date.

Davidson receives Wall Street Journal Award

AU holds groundbreaking for York Performance Hall and Galleries

Anderson University held the groundbreaking for the York Performance Hall and Galleries on Thursday, May 5. The approximately 24,000 square-foot facility, with an estimated cost of approximately $4 million, will adjoin the existing Krannert Fine Arts Building, bringing together classrooms, rehearsal rooms, and the new performance venue. The performance hall project will be designed to be a flexible performance space for many ensembles, solo student performances, and guest artists visiting Anderson University.

Two biology seniors receive Stevenson Award

Anderson University seniors Elizabeth Barrow and Joanna Tilley were awarded the 2011 Stevenson Outstanding Student Award during a luncheon on campus Tuesday, April 12. The $5,000 award is presented annually by the Biology Department and made possible through a gift by Dr. Jerry and Patricia Stevenson. The award was divided equally between the students, who both achieved a 4.0 GPA during their time at AU.
