I am currently a Private Contractor for FedEx Home Delivery. I have a huge responsibility in customer care and making sure that all of the clients of FedEx are treated properly. I deliver packages daily and currently have five employees. I feel I am making a huge difference because without my service people would be unable to receive their packages. Products are constantly being shipped.

Fortunately, I had two professors at Anderson University that influenced my life and my decision of becoming a Private Contractor. Professors Emmett Dulaney and Greg Heberling had a huge impact on my life. I always knew that I wanted to run a business of my own, but I would have never dreamed it come so soon. Both Emmett and Greg taught an upper-level Entrepreneurship class that changed my view of owning a business. It was amazing to hear professors talk about how they have won some and lost some. They were very knowledgeable about the subject matter and made sure we knew that owning a business would NOT come easy, but if you worked hard it could come.

The thing I loved about Anderson University was the way every professor could use their real life experiences in teaching their courses. They were able to help the students understand the material by using real life examples. Some students, including myself, struggled to learn through textbook learning, but the professors were able to make the experience easier by using concrete examples that helped them through their struggles.
