AU launches social network for alumni,

Beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, Anderson University alumni will have access to – a new social network exclusively for Alumni. Visitors to the site will be able to view a special video message as part of the site launch and enter a promotion to win a new iPhone (device only; recipient will need to establish a monthly contract with their wireless service provider.)

Ben Davis, Director of Alumni Relations, said, "It is our hope that will be a place where AU alumni can not only catch up with friends and former classmates but also stay more connected to Anderson University. Alumni will see content, news and updates on this site that won't be available anywhere else."

Users of are encouraged to manage their profiles with pictures and updates, create content through blogs, discussions and videos, and explore other users’ pages to interact with classmates and acquaintances. Contests and promotions with prize giveaways will be conducted on an ongoing basis for active participants.

"We wanted to provide a new tool for alumni to communicate and network in a way that is fresh and relevant," Davis said. "We're especially excited about the interactive nature of social media, meaning that alumni will be providing their own content by posting videos, photos, blogs and discussions."

"As opposed to sites like Facebook or Myspace, is a secure, niche community that is designed exclusively for AU alumni," said Chris Williams, Director of University Communications. "I think this is the direction of the future for social networking."
