Anderson University welcomes alumni, family and friends back for fun and fellowship during Homecoming 2009, titled "Stay Connected for Good" October 9-10. Along with the annual homecoming football game and introduction of the homecoming king, queen and court, there will also be opportunities to enjoy the RavenFest, class and academic reunions, and a theatrical production entitled "Into the Woods."
For more information about Anderson University’s 2009 Homecoming celebration, contact the AU Office of Alumni Relations at 765-641-4100, 765-641-3888 (fax), or visit the AU public Web site at AU Homecoming.
"This year's theme has a double meaning for AU alumni," said Director of Alumni Relations, Ben Davis. "'Stay Connected For Good' refers to the ongoing, lifelong relationship that we want to have with our alumni, as well as implying that our goal as an Alumni Association is to serve the greater good -- through involvement in our communities and churches."
The alumni tent at the annual Raven Fest will feature the Alumni Association's online presence through social media such as Facebook and LinkedIn.
"More and more, we are seeing that authentic connection can happen between AU and our alumni, or among groups of alums, online," added Davis. "We're using social media as a relevant tool to reach out not just to our younger alumni, but to everyone."
The Alumni Office will also showcase videos and pictures from this year's Alumni Event Series, which has seen gatherings in places ranging from Orlando to New York City to Chicago. "It's been a great year for alumni fellowship," says Davis, "and we have many more regional event ideas coming up." Alumni will have the opportunity to submit recommendations for alumni gatherings in their area.
