Spring Into Dance to highlight new majors, guest artist Peter Kyle

The Anderson University School of Music will hold its annual Spring Into Dance concert March 26 and 27, featuring guest artist Peter Kyle. This year’s concert will offer something for every audience member. With a wide variety of choreography, ranging from thought-provoking to entertaining to sheer comedy, audience members will experience a range of emotions, laughter, and dance. The concerts will also highlight new majors within the Anderson University Dance Program.

Anderson University Spring into DanceThe performances will take place at Reardon Auditorium on the campus of Anderson University, and are open to the campus community and the general public. The performance on Friday, March 26 will be at 7:30 p.m., and the performance on Saturday, March 27 will be at 2:30 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults; $10 for seniors, Anderson University faculty, and children under the age of 10; and $5 for Anderson University students. Audience members will also get a taste of what is happening in the New York City dance scene through Kyle's choreography. Kyle has toured internationally with Nikolais and Murray Louis Dance, Mark Morris Dance Group, Erick Hawkins Dance Company, Pittsburgh Dance Alloy, Gina Gibney Dance, Works/Laura Glenn Dance, and with the theater company Pacific Performance Project/east.

Peter Kyle DanceKyle's choreography has been commissioned by Kaatsbaan International Dance Center, The Dancenow/NYC Festival, Cornish College of the Arts, UW Summer Arts Festival, the Museum of Glass: International Center for Contemporary Art, University of Stavanger (Norway), X Factor Dance/Dance Base (Scotland), and RSTR4 Art Project in Munich (Germany), among others. Kyle will draw the audience in as he takes them on a journey of moment that reflects the forces of nature.

This year’s concert will also highlight Anderson University's three new dance majors: Dance Performance, Dance Business, and Dance Complementary. As a grand opening of these majors, this year’s Spring Into Dance reaches for greater heights and a broader audience.
