Anderson University welcomes alumni, family, and friends back for fun and fellowship during Homecoming 2011, Oct. 21-22. Along with the annual homecoming football game and introduction of the homecoming king, queen, and court, there will also be opportunities to enjoy the RavenFest (rain or shine) that will again host Reunion Park, the Raven's Nest Sundae for $1, and the new addition of a photo booth.

We hope you'll always want to stay connected to AU," said Elyse Cromer, associate director of alumni and parent programming.

The Alumni Office will have a specially designated area near the Alumni Tent at the Street Fair from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22 for graduates from all years who are celebrating a class reunion. Along with the class reunions, the Alumni Office is also inviting the years before and after the official reunion year as a "cluster reunion":

  • 10-year Reunion: Classes of 2000-2002
  • 25-year Reunion: Classes of 1985-1987
  • 40-year Reunion: Classes of 1970-1972
  • 50-year Reunion: Classes of 1960-1962

Also returning this year will be the Live Homecoming Webcast from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. during the Street Fair.

"Since not everyone can travel here to be with us for Homecoming weekend, we're offering a live webcast with special guests from the Street Fair," said Ben Davis, director of alumni relations. "That way alumni can feel like they are a part of all the fun even if they're in their family room back at home. Last year we had alumni tune in to the webcast from all over the country and even a few international alumni."

The Alumni Office will also host for the second year the "Young Alum Coffeehouse" on Friday, Oct. 21, following the late Cheap Thrills, for graduates from 2006-2011. The Boosters social club will be celebrating their 75th anniversary with a dinner on Saturday at 5 p.m. The School of Adult Learning will host a tailgate party at the Street Fair before the football game against Defiance. The 18th annual 1950s Hospitality Tent and second annual 1970s Hospitality Tent will be located at Macholtz Stadium from 1-5 p.m. Another tent at Macholtz will host alumni for the 10-year reunion of the 2001 AU Football Conference Champs.

"The Student Alumni Association is working to bring back the Homecoming campus decorating contest to show off our school spirit," said Cromer. "Dorms, apartments, and clubs will all be involved with the contest and the SAA is sure our alumni will notice the difference when they visit."

The alumni office is encouraging as many people as possible to register for events online at https://co.clickandpledge.com/advanced/default.aspx?wid=46041. Alumni can also pre-register for a special Homecoming t-shirt for just $5.
