Sports marketing class gains real-world industry experience

Learn more about the real-world experience sports marketing students in the Falls School of Business at Anderson University received through planning events, meeting industry leaders, and more.

Gaining real-life experience in the classroom is a goal for many Falls School of Business students. This semester, students in the sports marketing class got that experience.

Students have planned sporting events, met and networked with industry professionals, and visited professional sports facilities and venues. Anna Stumpf, assistant professor of marketing, and Scott Zebedis, adjunct professor, co-taught and built the class around experiential learning.

AU SOT presents Amazing Aging/Aging Amazingly conference

Andrea Morehead will be the keynote speaker at the Amazing Aging/Aging Amazingly.

The Anderson University School of Theology is sponsoring Amazing Aging/Aging Amazingly, a conference hosted at Madison Park Church of God in Anderson, Ind. on May 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The conference is a collaborative partnership of the AU SOT and participating Church of God congregations in Anderson, Chesterfield, and Alexandria.

Anderson University students from the Falls School of Business, School of Education, and Covenant Productions share their experiences from course field trips.

Anderson University ensures that its students are provided with ample opportunities to see classroom concepts in practice through a variety of methods: job shadowing, overseas trips, and industry conferences.

Students shoot video in Nicaragua

In August 2013, students from Covenant Productions® took a trip to Jinotepe, Nicaragua, to shoot a video for Children of Promise, a nonprofit organization.

Deanna and President James L. Edwards enjoy a community tribute event.

The eagerly awaited official portrait of Dr. James Edwards was unveiled during a celebratory community concert Sunday at Reardon Auditorium hosted by Bill and Gloria Gaither.

“Being a portrait artist at an unveiling is a little like being a cat at a dog convention,” said Anderson artist David Slonim in remarks before the painted-from-life 40– by 30–inch oil on linen portrait was revealed.

Honors Program graduates present final research projects

Students from the Honors Program at Anderson University presented the findings from their senior research projects on Dec. 5, 2014.

All students in the Anderson University Honors Program are required to conduct a research project during their senior year. The topic of the project is decided by the student’s interest, and the format varies from person to person.

The research project culminates with a presentation of their work to faculty and peers given the week before graduation. Presentations are also open to any students that wish to attend.

Colts Training Camp at Anderson University

The Indianapolis Colts will hold training camp at Anderson University for the sixth consecutive year this coming summer. Dates for the camp will be announced by the Indianapolis Colts. Tens of thousands of fans attended the 2014 training camp, with opportunities to watch practices at AU's Macholtz Stadium, and family activities available through the popular Colts City.

2015 Midwest Dance Festival

Anderson University will be hosting their first Midwest Dance Festival, February 17-21, 2015. The festival will focus on performance, education, outreach and community to feature performances, master classes, and auditions for high school and university students. Events throughout the week for elementary and high schools along with university students, and professionals will be available.
