Good receives $5,000 Stevenson Award

Graduating senior Janelle Good recently received the Stevenson Outstanding Student Award for her work as a biology student. As an outstanding student, Good was selected for the $5,000 award by Dr. Blake Janutolo, dean of the College of Science and Humanities, and the biology faculty. The Stevenson Award is made possible through a gift by Dr. Jerry and Patricia Stevenson.

Ethel Willard is 74, retired and admits she could use some help from time to time. So when a group of Anderson University students knocked on her door approximately three years ago, she was overjoyed.

“They’ve helped me in many ways,” said Willard. “I had difficulty getting my gutters cleaned, and they did that. When I had eye surgery, they just came by to check on me. I think they are just wonderful.”

AU purchases High Def camera for Communication program

Anderson University has purchased a Sony Cine Alta XDCAM High Definition Camera, the PDW-350, and supporting equipment for students majoring in Mass Communication and for Covenant Productions® in its ongoing activities. Anderson University students will use the camera in the Advanced Video Production class to produce documentaries for Across Indiana aired on WFYI, channel 20 in Indianapolis, and Anderson University’s Covenant Productions® will use the camera on most field productions.

Graduating seniors earn 4.0 academic honors

Two outstanding senior students were honored during chapel-convocation recently for academic excellence by graduating with perfct a 4.0 grade point average. AU helps Anderson bounce back from jobs loss

It's entirely possible that Hoosiers soon will drive electric cars with nanoparticle batteries, have their car seats adjusted continuously for better comfort, and then park those cars in garages they ordered off the Internet. Those are just a few of the ideas being pursued by entrepreneurs at the Flagship Enterprise Center in Anderson. The center, a joint effort of the city of Anderson and Anderson University, opened in 2005 with the goal of attracting new and more diverse businesses to the area.

Nash and Ingalls receive Servant Leader Awards

AU students Tiara Nash and Matthew Ingalls recently received the 2007 Nicholson Student Servant Leadership Award for services on campus and in the community. The awards were made possible by a grant from the Moore Foundation and Barney II Foundation as well as matching funds directed to the university by donors Lowell ansd Dorothy Williamson. The award is named in honor of Dr. Robert A. Nicholson, president emeritus of Anderson University.

Thodos Dance Chicago performs at AU
