Marvin will be interning with Thirst Missions in Belize this summer.

An Anderson University junior majoring in management, has the unique opportunity this summer of going overseas for his internship to Belize to serve as a mission trip leader with Thirst Missions. Channing Marvin is in Belize from May to August organizing and leading missing trips for groups from North America. Some of his responsibilities will include meal preparation, leading worship, leading meetings, and guiding group trips.

Pursuing an information systems major and an early childhood education minor may seem unusual for most students, but not for Anderson University senior Makenzie Bontrager. Combining these two skills landed her an internship at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, where she is developing a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) program to be utilized in one of the museum’s exhibits.

Internships are often an extension of on-campus, hands-on experiences. Some students even parlay their internship into a post-graduation job. Gracie Winkler and Rachel Sparks are just two of those students who turned an internship into a job.

Alpha Chi officers: President Yardley Collett, Treasurer Jonelle Frazier, Vice President Nathan Nieman, and Secretary Ethan Hillman.

The Alpha Chi National College Honor Society (NCHS) named Anderson University’s chapter of Alpha Chi a Star Chapter. This is the 19th consecutive year in which AU has earned this distinction.

“Alpha Chi is an academic national honor society that promotes academic excellence and character,” says Yardley Collett, president of Alpha Chi and a senior political science major. This honor society is exclusive to private universities and small state universities.

Anderson University celebrates the 75th anniversary of “Head of Christ”

This year marks the 75th anniversary of Warner Sallman's "Head of Christ".

Anderson University possesses over 140 pieces of art created by the late artist Warner Sallman. One of these works is the iconic image of Jesus known as “Head of Christ.” This year marks the 75th anniversary of the painting’s creation. The university will hold a special celebration in the fall of 2015 to commemorate this piece.
