AU Student Art Displays in Indianapolis

Artwork created by Anderson University students studying through the Department of Art and Design is currently on display at the Dean Johnson Gallery in Indianapolis. The exhibit is entitled, "Protocol" and will be available for public viewing until February 16. The exhibit includes posters, packaging, prints, paintings, ceramics, glass and sculpture. The public may view the exhibit during the hours of operation for the Dean Johnson Gallery (11 a .m. to 5 p.m.), Monday through Friday.

AU Hosts College Goal Sunday

Anderson University will serve as a host site for College Goal Sunday, Sun., Feb. 12, at 2 p.m. in Reardon Auditorium. College Goal Sunday is a statewide charitable program that provides free information and assistance to Indiana families applying for college financial aid. College Goal Sunday will take place at 34 sites throughout the state of Indiana.

AU Joins City-Wide MLK Remembrance

Heroes need a hand sometimes. Civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. didn’t go it alone; he had people such as Rosa Parks fighting beside him. In observance of MLK Jr. Day, the Paramount Theatre Centre Monday held a citywide celebration. Had he not been assassinated April 4, 1968, King would’ve been 77 on Sunday. Restrooms weren’t segregated. People of color sat amongst whites in the theater. Attendees were in unison.

AU alumni unveil “Hoodwinked!”

Everybody knows the tale of Little Red Riding Hood. But what if there was more to the story than meets the eye? What if the four characters were possible victims, witnesses and suspects to a bigger, more serious crime? The animated movie “Hoodwinked!” takes the simple children’s story to a far more complex, surprising and funny level. And maybe the best part is that it’s the work of four Anderson University graduates: Cory Edwards [BA ’90], Todd Edwards [BA ’94], Preston Stutzman [BA ’92], and Katie (Edwards) Hooten [BA ’96].

AU launches master’s program in Music Education

The Anderson University Department of Music recently announced the launching of a Master's degree in Music Education (M.M.E.), the first graduate degree program to be offered by the Department of Music. Since the University’s founding in 1917, music has always played a major part in the life of the campus community. The new program will be geared to elementary, middle school and high school music educators throughout central Indiana.
