The Jessie C. Wilson Galleries at Anderson University is proud to present Show Up, Show Down, an exhibition of senior works by six Anderson University, Department of Art + Design graduating seniors from April 5 - May 9, 2014.

The seniors have titled the exhibition “Show Up, Show Down”. The name is a call to action that also references and acknowledges the struggles that often come with the territory of creative endeavors. This year’s diverse group of seniors presents work representing a wide range of interests and disciplines.

In the exhibit, visitors can expect to see painting, digital design, functional design, bookmaking, ceramics, and woodworking pieces from these six students when the exhibition opens on Saturday, April 5. The opening reception takes places from 3-5 p.m. on April 5.

Following the exhibit, on Thursday, April 10, and Tuesday, April 15, from 6 to 8 p.m., each senior will be giving a brief gallery talk. These informal talks will give each artist and designer an opportunity to share two points from their senior paper, addressing the background, influences and conceptual and visual concerns in their studio works and practices.

The Jessie C. Wilson Galleries serve Anderson University and East Central Indiana with monthly exhibitions that feature the work of regionally and nationally recognized artists. Through these exhibitions, the gallery is dedicated to enriching and engaging AU students, as well as promoting the visual arts within the greater community.
