Every Wednesday afternoon the Anderson University campus fills with the laughter of children. Many have noticed these young guests frolicking on their way to the School of Music and the Kardatzke Wellness Center.
Anderson University’s School of Education is in the third year of a successful internship program that offers student teachers an added semester to experience working more closely with students, parents and administrators.
Two Anderson University graduates have received the 2009 Teacher of the Year award in their districts.
Janet (Short) Mora, a 1983 Anderson University grad and 26-year teaching veteran, was named Elementary Teacher of the Year in the McAllen (Texas) Independent School District, and Jonathan Kline, a 2007 AU grad, was named Teacher of the Year in the Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township in Indianapolis.
U.S. News and World Report has again ranked Anderson University among the best universities in the Midwest offering master’s level degree programs. Institutions in this category offer a full range of both undergraduate and master’s level degree programs. The magazine’s 2010 guide to "America’s Best Colleges" marks the sixth consecutive year that Anderson University has been listed among the best in its class.
Though she officially retired from the School of Education in December 2008, Nancy Moller will never stop teaching. She will now be giving life lessons and her pupil count has been reduced to 18 – all grandchildren.
