Roitman brings Dead Sea Scrolls experience to AU

“I love teaching because it’s a blessing. It’s a blessing to me because now they know about this part of history,” said Dr. Adolfo Roitman, curator of the Dead Sea Scrolls. On October 10, Roitman visited Anderson University to participate in the 31st Newell Lecture Series and to speak about his role as curator of the scrolls and the head of the Shrine of the Book at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. The day consisted of one general lecture, two scholarly lectures, and a question and answer session.

Anderson University School of Theology honored Rev. David Coolidge with the 2012 Distinguished Ministries Award, Dr. Neil Snarr with the 2012 Distinguished Alumni Award, Rev. Shannon New-Spangler with the 2012 Distinguished Young Alumni Award, and Rev. Don Taylor with the 2012 Distinguished Service Award at the annual SOT Alumni & Friends Awards Luncheon on Monday, June 25.

Lewis article lends perspective to Dictionary of Scripture and Ethics

Dr. James Lewis, associate dean and professor of theology and ethics at the Anderson University School of Theology, has contributed his knowledge and research on ethics and African-American history to a recent publication, the Dictionary of Scripture and Ethics. Published in December 2011, the Dictionary is a compilation of articles and essays that address the issue of how Scripture should impact everyday ethical issues.
