Anderson University will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019

Anderson, Ind. — Due to the severe winter weather conditions, the university will be closed Jan. 30, 2019. This means that ALL classes are canceled for undergraduate, graduate, and adult studies. The campus is considered closed to all persons except those assisting in emergency operations, such as Physical Plant and Campus Police. The men’s and women’s basketball games versus Defiance College have been rescheduled for Jan. 31.

The following areas on campus will remain open for normal business hours:

  • Olt Student Center (all other dining locations closed)
  • Kardatzke Wellness Center

A shuttle service will be provided from each of the residence halls and apartments to the Market Place on Wednesday. The shuttle service will rotate from building to building and will run on the following schedule:

Breakfast: 9a.m. – 10a.m.

Lunch: 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Dinner: 5p.m. – 7p.m.

Decisions regarding closures beyond Jan. 30, 2019 will be made on a daily basis as conditions merit and communicated as detailed below.

So that all campus personnel affected can receive updated information promptly and accurately, official notification will be handled in the following manner:

  1. Anderson University Home Page: anderson.edu (news)
  2. Raven Alert System: sign up at http://ras.anderson.edu/ to receive alerts. (User and password are the same as that used to log on to AU computers)
  3. Radio/TV announcements
  4. AU Social Media (Facebook and Twitter)

Notification to “Resume” normal campus operations will be made by all of the above methods except Radio/TV (Radio/TV do not typically make this type of announcement).
