School of Music, Theatre, and Dance

Artist Certificate or Diploma

At Anderson University, we are passionate about music performance. After many years of preparing undergraduate musicians for successful careers as performing artists, we have developed a program to bridge the gap between undergraduate study and graduate school or professional auditions.

All of the courses in our program focus on performance, with private lessons as the cornerstone of your time with us. You will perform in a large ensemble as well as in chamber ensembles, and you will complete a seminar that helps you develop the entrepreneurial skills you need to be successful as a professional musician. Students will give a recital each year in our state-of-the-art York Performance Hall.

This course of study takes two forms:

  • Artist Certificate – 1 year of study, totaling 12 credit hours
  • Artist Diploma – 2 years of study, totaling 24 credit hours

The faculty who teach in this program hold credentials from the world’s leading conservatories and music schools, and they have distinguished international performance careers. You will study closely with these outstanding faculty members to deepen your own artistry and take the next steps toward your professional goals. We help students develop holistically by caring about your individual talents, your artistic identity, and your professional goals.
