Swim Lessons

swim lessonsDr. Jim Scott, professor of kinesiology, leads a team of students who have earned certifications from the American Red Cross in lifeguarding, first aid, and AED (automatic external defibrillator). On Saturday mornings, Monday evenings, and Wednesday evenings, these qualified students teach swimming lessons to children in the community. Classes are taught at Anderson University in Bennett Natatorium at the Kardatzke Wellness Center each semester with the following classes available to the public:

  • Parent Tot: ages 6 months to 3 years
  • Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills
  • Level 2: Fundamental Aquatic Skills
  • Level 3: Stroke Development
  • Level 4: Stroke Improvement
  • Level 5: Stroke Refinement
  • Level 6: Personal Water Safety
