Residence Hall Room Draw Process

Room Draw Dates & Process

Apartment Draw happens first - Those student who will have Junior or Senior status NEXT year (Fall 2018) will be eligible to take place in Apartment Draw.

  • Fill out online Apartment Application by Monday, March 26 at 11:59pm
    • ALL ROOMMATES MUST FILL OUT AN APPLICATION
  • Come on Wednesday, April 4 at 7:30pm for Apartment Draw
  • Once you have checked in, Apartment Draw will begin at 8pm.
  • You will be given a number at check-in. Numbers are determined based off of the number of credit hours you have. 
  • Once your number is called, you and your whole group, will come up and select your room!
  • If your desired apartment isn’t available, you can select a different apartment and be put on the waiting list for your desired apartment.
  • After you have selected your apartment, you are free to go!

Priority will be given to full apartments first! If you do not have a full apartment, (ex. 3 people instead of 4 people) you will have to wait until all full apartments have selected their rooms. You will then have the opportunity to select any open apartment, with the understanding that all unfilled spaces could become filled with random roommates.

Residence Hall Draw happens two weeks later!! 

  • Fill out online Residence Hall Application by Monday, April 9h at 11:59pm
    • ALL ROOMMATES MUST FILL OUT AN APPLICATION
  • Come on Tuesday, April 17 at 7:30pm for Residence Hall Room Draw
  • Once you have checked in, Residence Hall Room Draw will begin at 8pm.
  • You will be given a number at check-in. Numbers are determined based off of the number of credit hours you have. 
  • Once your number is called, you and your whole group, will come up and select your room!
  • If your desired room or building isn’t available, you can select a different room and be put on the waiting list for your desired room/building.
  • After you have selected your room, you are free to go!

Priority will be given to full rooms first! If you do not have a roommate, you will have to wait until all pairs have selected their rooms. You will then have the opportunity to select any open room, with the understanding that all unfilled spaces could become filled with random roommates.

SQUATTING

If you would like to squat your apartment: 

  • In order to be eligible to squat your apartment, you must have a FULL group AND at least half of your 2017-2018 group must make up your 2018-2019 group
  • Complete the Apartment Squatter’s Rights Form at housing.anderson.edu
  • You must enter 7-digit ID #s for each member of your group on the online application
  • If you meet the above criteria, you will be placed in your assigned apartment and will NOT need to enter room draw. 
  • Apartment Squatter forms are due by Friday, March 23, 2017 by 11:59pm

If you would like to squat your residence hall room:

  • In order to be eligible to squat your residence hall room, you AND your same roommate must be staying together.
    • Due to the repositioning of freshman rooms for next year, if you squat your room and it is decided that your room will be a freshman room for next year, we will assign you to a different, available upperclassman room on the same floor.
  • Complete the Residence Hall Squatter’s Rights Form at housing.anderson.edu
  • You must enter the 7 digit ID #s for your roommate(s).
  • If you meet the above criteria, you will be placed in your assigned room and will NOT need to enter room draw.
  • Residence Hall Squatter forms are due on Friday, April 6 by 11:59pm

All application will be made available on Monday, March 19 at 8am. The applications can be found at housing.anderson.edu
