Rudy Lyon

Rudy Lyon

Hi! Though my given name is Taylor, please call me "Rudy!" That nickname was awarded to me during my time as an Anderson University student due to a real-life Rudy Ruettiger-esque experience my freshman year. The name has stuck with me ever since. I'd love to share the story should we meet at AU!

All names aside though, I am the Resident Director of Smith Hall on the east end of campus near the Wellness Center. I graduated from AU in 2013 with a degree in Christian Ministries. As a pastor's kid, I am fairly well traveled, having lived in Oregon, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Kansas. However, I have fallen in love with Indiana and have made Anderson my home. I have been so overwhelmed with joy at the opportunity to give back to the AU community after all it gave to me as a student. I also serve in the role of Intramural Coordinator in the office of Student Engagement.

In my spare time, I enjoy all things sports. On a daily basis, I can be found on campus playing pick-up basketball, tossing a Frisbee, throwing a baseball, or just talking about the big game from the previous night with students. I also have a heart for ministering to young men that I incorporate into the team dynamics of sports. Some other favorites of mine include: Mexican food, trivia, watching movies, Detroit Tigers baseball, and puns.

AU is a wonderful place to experience Christ and community, and I'm so thankful to be a part of it!

Rudy has served at Anderson University since 2014.
