Marc Chagall and The Bible: A painting in warm tones including a figure on an animal facing another figure.

Jan. 19 - Feb. 23, 2018

Opening Reception in Wilson Gallery: Friday, Jan. 26, 6-7 p.m., followed by a lecture in Hartung Hall from 7-8 p.m. by Deidre Dempsey, Associate Professor of Old Testament at Marquette University.

Chagall (1887-1985) was one of the foremost visual interpreters of the Bible during the 20th Century. His vision of the Old Testament combines his Jewish heritage and modern art, giving us a rich display of symbolism and imagination.

Dr. David Murphy, Professor of History at Anderson University, will also be giving a lecture at the Wilson Gallery on Feb. 6 from 6-7 p.m.
