As the 2016-27 academic year comes to a close, the Anderson University Board of Trustees voted to confer emeritus status upon three departing faculty members.

“Faculty emeritus status is conferred by the Board of Trustees to certain faculty members who retire after having served the university under honorable circumstances for a total of 15 or more years,” Provost Marie Morris explained.

AU student takes the field with the Bluecoats

Graham Hopkins, sophomore at Anderson University, wears a “Bluecoat of Excellence” through his leadership and passion.


Anderson University sophomore Graham Hopkins, a music business major, has taken on a grueling summer task. He is traveling the nation with nearly nonstop competitions and practices with the drum and bugle corp the Bluecoats.

The Bluecoats, a marching band based in Canton, Ohio, competes in Drum and Bugle Corp International (DCI). The corps was created by two Canton police officers and a businessman in 1972 as a program for the Canton Police Boys Club. It wasn’t long before fans cheered them on with the call of “Bloo” at their performances.
