Three Advantages to Pursue AU Pre-Law
There are three advantages to preparing for a career in law at Anderson University.
- The first is that our students get into some of the best law schools in the nation. Recent graduates have attended the law schools at Georgetown, Duke, Indiana University (both Bloomington and Indianapolis), Illinois, Iowa, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Kentucky, DePaul, and Regent, among others. And this success is not limited to a select group of students. Over the past five years, all but one of our graduating seniors who applied to law school were accepted.
- A second advantage results from Anderson being the county seat of Madison County, which means that AU students have access to excellent internships. The Madison County Courthouse is only one mile away from campus. AU students regularly serve as interns with Circuit Court judges, the prosecutor’s office, and local attorneys. Not only do these internships provide great insight into what it is like to work in the legal field but also count for credit toward graduation.
- The third advantage of studying pre-law at AU is the personal attention students receive. Students work closely with their pre-law advisor to identify courses, internships, and other experiences that will help prepare them to succeed in law school. And as students near graduation, the pre-law advisor can help students identify the law schools to which they should apply and help navigate the law school admission process.
