President John S. Pistole earned his bachelor’s degree from Anderson University in 1978. He went on to earn a juris doctorate from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law before going into practice for two years. Pistole began a career with the FBI in 1983 before he rose through the ranks and was appointed deputy director in 2004.
In March 2006, the FBI honored Pistole with the 2005 Presidential Rank of Distinguished Executive. President Barack Obama appointed Pistole as head of the Transportation Security Administration in the spring of 2010 and his appointment was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on June 25. In July, 2010, Janet Napolitano, former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, swore in Pistole as director of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Learn more about President Pistole.
Dr. Marie Morris was named Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean at Anderson University in 2009 and Provost in 2011. She previously served as Vice President and Undergraduate Academic Dean at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Dr. Morris earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Eastern Mennonite University, a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Virginia, and a Ph.D. in Nursing Administration from George Mason University.
Dana S. Stuart, Vice President, Finance and Treasurer
Dana Stuart was appointed Vice President for Finance and Treasurer in March 2012. She previously served the university as controller and treasurer, assistant treasurer and controller, director of receivables and investment accounting, and accounts receivable manager.
Stuart received a Bachelor of Arts from Anderson University and a Master of Business Administration from the Falls School of Business. Stuart has served as a board member of Community Hospital Anderson and as a member of the Indiana Association of College and University Business Officers (IACUBO).
Rebecca Fuller Beeler, Vice President, Enrollment and Marketing
Rebecca Fuller Beeler was appointed vice president for enrollment and marketing in 2016. From 2008 until 2016, Fuller Beeler taught public relations courses, served as the academic adviser to PR students, and was the faculty adviser for AU's chapter of PRSSA and for Fifth Street Communications®. For the last four years, Fuller Beeler also served as the chair for the Department of Communication & Design Arts. Prior to 2008, Fuller Beeler was a communication and marketing director for a national not-for-profit organization, specializing in media relations, internal communication, strategic planning and execution, and integrated marketing communications.
Fuller Beeler earned her bachelor of arts from Anderson University, her master of public affairs from Indiana University, and is a candidate for a Ph.D. in global leadership from Indiana Institute of Technology.
Hudson Akin was named vice president for advancement at Anderson University in January 2016. Prior to his arrival at AU, he was vice president for university advancement at Ball State University from which he retired with emeritus status in the fall of 2015. Hudson has previously served as executive vice president for Children’s Medical Center of Dallas Foundation, vice president for university advancement at the University of South Carolina, executive director of university development at Ball State, vice president for development and external affairs at Louisiana Tech University, and vice president and chief operating officer of the Louisiana Bankers Association. Hudson is a native of Arkansas and has two children and three grandsons.
As vice president for advancement at AU, he is responsible for all of the university’s fundraising efforts, as well as alumni involvement and engagement.
