Chemistry classThe study of chemistry introduces students to the world of atoms and molecules, their composition and interactions. This study is recommended for chemistry majors and minors as preparation for graduate school, medical school, secondary-level teaching, or careers in government or industrial laboratories.

What classes will I take?

Among the classes in the 52-hour major are:

  • general chemistry
  • organic chemistry
  • analytical chemistry
  • calculus
  • quantum chemistry
  • science seminar

It is also recommended for physics or biology students to supplement and complement their major fields of study. Students considering a chemistry major should begin their study with General Chemistry I (CHEM 2110).
