Marissa Johnson graduated from AU in 2013, with a degree in communication arts focusing on public relations. During her time as a student, she worked for various offices on campus, including admissions, the honors program, and publications. Upon her graduation, she worked as an administrative assistant for Zionsville Community Schools, before returning to AU in 2016. Marissa and her husband, Casey, met at AU and married in 2013. They are expecting their first child in April 2019.
As the content specialist, Marissa heads up content writing and marketing for the university at large, with a major focus on enrollment. She serves as the editor of Signatures, AU’s institutional magazine, which is released three times a year. She also works to promote effective internal communication, including management of the intranet and writing and design of a weekly internal newsletter.
Fun fact: Marissa strives to read at least 50 books each year, and her favorite authors include Marisa de los Santos, Rainbow Rowell, and Maria Semple.
