Tamara Dreger Shelton serves as the Campus Pastor for Anderson University. Tamara is passionate about helping students discover complete freedom through abundant life in Christ. As Campus Pastor, Tamara works with the Spiritual Life Advisory Council, comprised of faculty, staff, and students to plan the Chapel/Convocation schedule each semester and to be responsive to the Spiritual needs of the campus community. She provides support for Spiritual Life programming at AU and is available to meet with students as they consider questions of faith and vocation and calling.
Tamara graduated from Anderson University in 2001 and continued her education at Asbury Theological Seminary to pursue a Masters in Pastoral Counseling and graduated in 2003. Additionally, Tamara graduated from the Anderson University School of Theology in 2016 with a Master of Divinity Degree. As an Ordained Minister in the Church of God (Anderson), Tamara has served at congregations in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana. She has also served in various roles at AU including Resident Director of Morrison Hall and Assistant Dean for Residence Life and Spiritual Direction.
Tamara lives in Anderson and finds her greatest joy in her role as wife to Matt and mama to their four children, Keira, Judah, Elayne and Daphne. She enjoys running, trips to the beach, and enormous cups of coffee.
Tamara has served at Anderson University since 2007.
