Terry Pahls

Senior Engineering Consultant and Adjunct Professor of Engineering

Mr. Pahls joined Anderson University in 2013 as senior engineering consultant and adjunct professor of engineering to help develop the new AU Engineering programs and curricula. Previously, he worked for more than 40 years in industry, where he held engineering and corporate leadership positions with General Motors, Detroit Edison, Remy International and I Power Energy Systems, and was responsible for oversight of operations in the U.S. and eight countries overseas.

His primary academic interests include:

  • Lean Manufacturing/Lean Enterprise
  • Product Commercialization/Program Management
  • Mechanical
  • Materials and Chemical Engineering
  • Coordinating Engineering Internships

In addition, he is responsible for oversight and continuous improvement of the Engineering Laboratories.

He currently serves on the boards of several companies and has served as board member and chairman of several United Way organizations, the Industrial Advisory Board of the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology in Indianapolis, and as chairman of the Madison County Planning Commission and the Mayor’s Manufacturing Roundtable for the City of Anderson. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Indiana and is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Society for Engineering Education.

Mr. Pahls is proudly married to his wife Linda and they have six wonderful children and three grandchildren.

He enjoys all sports (but particularly golf) and helping new businesses launch and grow in Madison County.
