Are you ready to move back in and go to class?

We don't mean to interrupt your summer, but here are a few reminders that might come in handy when you do start thinking about school again.

Classes for Semester I begin Monday, August 28. Returning students will be able to move into the residence halls Friday, August 25 at 10 a.m. If you are asked by a University office to be on campus earlier than 10 a.m. on Friday for a specific purpose (i.e., athletics, new student orientation, student leadership job, etc.), your name will be submitted to the Housing Office by your coach or supervisor indicating the date you need to arrive.

Please note our policy has changed for early arrivals. Only those students with on campus jobs may submit an early arrival application for review. Your on campus supervisor will need to email the Housing Office with details of your work schedule. Those students that believe they have a valid reason for an early arrival can submit an application to be reviewed by the Dean of Students. If approved,  early arrivals will be charged $50 per night spent in the residence hall before August 20. Visit the housing website at and complete an Early Arrival Request form. To complete or revise your Semester I class schedule, please contact your assigned advisor soon after you arrive on campus. If you do not have an advisor, contact the Office of Academic Advising, Decker 258C.

The Registrar's Office will process your Change of Schedule form with your advisor's signature free of charge through Friday, September 1. Fees apply for dropped classes beginning Tuesday, September 5.

The registrar’s summer office hours are 8:30 a.m. - noon and 1 - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Change of Schedule forms will not be processed on Thursday, August 24 due to New Student Registration that day. An updated Schedule of Classes is posted online on AccessAU. Change of Schedule forms or special permission forms can be picked up in the Registrar's office.

To live off campus, you must be classified as a senior, registered for fewer than 12 semester hours, 22 years old by May 31, 2018, married or living with your parents. Exceptions are made only for those who applied and were approved to live off campus by the Campus Housing Committee.

If you are eligible and will be either living off-campus or commuting from your parent’s home, please visit the housing website at to complete either the Off-campus Address Information form or the Commuter Address Information form.

If you participated in room draw or requested an on-campus room, you should already be aware of your assignment. Students without housing assignments or with questions about Semester I housing should contact (765) 641-4190 or e-mail us at

Compact microwave ovens and compact refrigerators (as large as 4 cu. ft.) are permitted in residence hall rooms. All residence halls are equipped with lofting furniture; therefore lofts may not be built in any residence hall.

Anderson University is not responsible for loss of personal property due to theft or other circumstances while you live in a residence hall. Please review your homeowner’s insurance policy for coverage of personal property while at college. If your homeowner’s policy does not cover your personal property or due to high deductibles often associated with homeowners insurance, you might want to consider purchasing renter’s insurance. Contact your resident director after August 1 if you have any questions about residence life.
