AMG earns Pinnacle Award for Falls Report
The Anderson University Falls School of Business and Anderson Media Group (AMG) recently won the 2007 Pinnacle Award by the Hoosier chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) for its in-house magazine, the "Falls Report." AMG executive director, Ben Hayhurst, was presented with the award by Angela Cain, community affairs director for WTHR Channel 13 in Indianapolis.
"Winning a Pinnacle Award confirms what we have known for a long time, that our students are not only able to compete in the marketplace when they graduate, but they can compete in it now while they are still students," said Dr. Terry Truitt, dean of the Falls School of Business. "We are so proud of their work on the Falls Report. These students are producing at the highest level; not just as students, but as top professionals."

The Pinnacle Award recognizes excellence in public relations of both complete strategic programs and individual tactical projects. Indiana organizations and practicing professionals in the public relations industry submit pieces of their best work produced during the last year. The pieces are then sent to another PRSA Chapter to be judged.
"This just shows that all of our hard work is starting to pay off and that our students are being recognized in the community and the industry," said Hayhurst. "AMG has won other awards, such as the Circle Award for Top Student Marketers from the Business Marketing Association, but never an award for the "Falls Report." Hayhurst added, "I think this recognition will open up some doors for students. Having worked for an award winning organization is always a good thing to put on a résumé."
Providing public relations, marketing and design services for small businesses, the Anderson Media Group is a student-run company founded through the Falls School of Business. In addition, the AMG is responsible for the production of the semi-annual "Falls Report," a 32-page business magazine for Madison County.
